Milestone partners with Happy Trails Riding Center

Well, it is Dec 2nd and I was riding in a short-sleeved polo today in 65 degree weather...just crazy!
JB is staying sound and back into full swing training! Yeah! Although, he really needs a trace clip. They are really, really fuzzy!
Roanie is as full of himself as always, but still a barn favorite!
I have changed my AZ phone # to a CO #, which I know disappoints many of you AZ folks, but I am trying to focus on advertising for more business here in CO since it looks like we are here for awhile!
My new ph# is: 303.520.2636
I have also partnered with a new barn called, Happy Trails Riding Center in Lafayette/Erie, CO. Their website is: www.happytrailsridingcenter.com. They have an lighted indoor for dark nights and foul weather, 2 outdoor rings with jumps and a cross-country course that includes a water crossing, banks and ditches. This is an exciting opportunity for us and we are looking forward to working with Chris and Rhonda.

Milestone is relocating to Thornton, CO

Milestone Equestrian, LLC is officially relocating to Thornton, CO, a small town North of Denver. Kate will continue to travel back to Arizona for clinics and training, as requested, but less frequently than this past summer. Clinics will focus on intermediate/advanced Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross-Country and Natural Horsemanship.
Currently, JB, Kate's 12 yr old TB,  is still recovering from his injuries sustained this summer. Kate hopes to compete JB again this Spring at the Beginner Novice level for some competition experience, but only time will tell.
Roanie, Kate's lesson horse, will be available for lessons and partial lease. Kate plans to show him at some local schooling shows in Training Level Dressage and Schooling Jumpers, getting Roanie ready to show with Jacob Dixon, Kate's 7 yr old son.
So, as we head into Fall, Milestone Equestrian is looking towards the possibilities for next year. Clinics, Shows, Horse Purchases and Sales, and learning as much as possible!

Wow, was this past week in Flagstaff, AZ fun!!! The 2 day Trail Camp 101 was a great camp. The riders and the horses were all great and a pleasure to work with. We enjoyed some nice trails, learned so much about safety and control and enjoyed the great outdoors. Photos will be posted soon!
After Trail Camp, we held our 1st Advanced Horsemanship Clinc for English riders. There were so many highlights, I don't know where to start. Natural Horsemanship mixed with Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross-Country riding...how awesome! Everyone learned so much about their horses and themselves, overcame fear, created trust and respect, and accomplished a level of connection and control with their horses that they only dreamed of. We had such a great time! Plastic tarps, umbrellas, giant bouncy balls, "carwash" obstacles, ditches, up and down banks, and the list goes on.

My personal favorite highlights: Trudi's ear-to-ear, pure joy, smile when her horse cantered off after a jump on a loose rein in perfect balance and relaxation. Kristine's determination and self-satisfaction of jumping Teddy over the ditch. Anna's flawless execution of jogging up to a 3ft x 3ft log and hopping over it, as relaxed and quiet as could be. Amazing students and horses! Thank you all!

Hello Everyone! I wanted to pass the word that I am teaching an Intermediate/Advanced Jumping Camp at Northern AZ Riding Stables from June 13th-15th, 9am-1pm. Here is the description: " Advanced Horsemanship Clinic- (Advanced Riding Level) This clinic is designed for the young riders who own or lease their own horse and would like to improve their riding skills through better communication with their horse. Whether it be ground work, flat work or jumping, this special clinic is offered by NARS resident trainer Kate Dixon who will work one on one with attendees to help improve the riding level of each rider. Kate believe's that people should learn to interact with horses by understanding their body language, the herd mentality, the horse's natural instincts, operant conditioning and extensive groundwork to establish and enhance the person-horse bond. In this clinic Kate will also cover a varitety of non-mounted topics such as leg wrapping, trailer loading, general first aide and overall horse healthcare." June 13-15 9:00am- 1:00pm $300 If you need stabling at NARS during this camp/clinic, cost is $10/night if we feed, $7/night if you provide the feed. Please call, email or text me for more info. Hope everyone enjoys the videos! This is from this past weekend w/ Gina Miles, Olympic Silver medalist in Eventing. JB was fantastic...this was only our 2nd time on a real cross-country course. I am signing him up for his 1st event the 1st week in June, here in Colorado. I will not be heading to Flagstaff in May, but will wait until June. I will be there June11th-June16th and available to teach everyday after 1:30pm when the Kid's Camps are over. Sorry I cannot make it in May, but my husband is traveling to WY and we cannot coordinate childcare if we are both out of the state abd Jacob cannot miss any more school to come with me. Hope you all understand;-)
